Meet the Owner, Ashlyn Jackson

Hi! I'm Ashlyn (25), the owner of A Nurse's Way.

First off, welcome to my website! This entire business, including my website, is like a child of mine. I pour my heart and soul into each detail. I am happy you are here!

Speaking of children, my husband and I do not have any, yet, but we are the proud parents of two sweet fur babies, Callie & Oliver. I met my husband in 2014 at age 17, and we married in 2018! We live in a home built in 1910 in the same small town we both grew up in, Centralhatchee.

My hobby use to be this business, however it has grown so much that I now consider it a part-time job! (Which is exactly what I wanted!) In my spare time now I enjoy traveling. Pre-COVID, I liked traveling the world. I had (maybe still have) a goal to visit 30 different countries before age 30. I also keep a travel blog, check that out here The Traveling Peach. Now that travel out of the country is mostly restricted, I enjoy taking road trips across the good ol' US of A! In 2020 I purchased a vintage 1983 Serro Scotty camper. It is the most adorable tin can I have ever seen! Click here to see a picture, it's called The Nugget

Full-time, I am a Registered Nurse in my local Emergency Department on night shift. I graduated from the University of West Georgia with a BSN in 2018. I have been working in the ER ever since. As you can imagine, the ER #nurselife can be quite overwhelming. That is where this business comes in. I consider A Nurse's Way to be an outlet from my everyday stresses of day-to-day life. When I am in my kitchen melting and pouring goat's milk soaps and lotions I am at peace. It is mostly due to all the essential oils I use, they can induce mindfulness, peace, and tranquility. However, I find myself caught up in all the details of how each piece smells and looks too. I usually listen to music or a good crime junkie podcast, and I loose myself. Next thing I know I have 200+ bars of soap on my kitchen counter and 6 hours has flown by just like that! I love what I do, and I hope you do too!

Anyway, that is a little snapshot of me. Feel free to "sniff" around the shop. I would be happy to answer any questions you may have, just shoot me a message. :)

My sister (left) and my mom (right). They are my biggest fans! This business would not be possible without them. They help me at festivals and markets, and they listen to all my crazy ideas and support my dreams!

My husband, Cole. He is a farmer and a diesel mechanic. I am very thankful he isn't sensitive to smells. Our home always smells like an explosion of floral scents, and our counters are always covered in soaps. He is my person. <3

The very first weekend I brought The Nugget home! I had to set her up for a photoshoot in my backyard.

One of my traveling pics, Greece, Spain, & The Antelope Canyons!
